An Email That You Need To Be Careful — Phishing

I received an email from cPanel. The email insists that my domain has reached its disk quota. I should do something to prevent any further issues as soon as possible by using a link which they provided.

Here’s is how it looks like.

Well, I wasn’t upset to be honest, I was kind of impressed because they put efforts to make it look legit unlike other lame phishing emails. So I was thinking that some people might be deceived by it.

Here’s why this is a phishing scam.

• The sender email isn’t legit
• It says the system generated this notice on 2021/03/23. But it’s mid Oct now and my website has been running smoothly without any issues
• The link is not an actual link — you will see where it points to if you hover your mouse pointer on the link
• Fact check — I have a plenty of storage
