COVID-19 Antigen

I’d been sick since I got back to Canada. Unfortunately, it’s the flu season so I was thinking this is one of them, or it’s just jet lag from the trip. But at some point, I lost my sense of smell and taste. Okay, this isn’t good. I need to get one to test COVID right now.

So how to get a rapid test?

It’s actually super simple! What you need to do is check whether the COVID rapid test kits are available or not at any of drugstores around you and go get one. I was just told to go there and ask them so this is what happened at a drugstore.

Cashier: Hi, what can I help you?
Me: Hi, can I get a COVID rapid test kit?
Cashier: Sure. Here it is. (she gave it to me)
Me: Great, how much is it?
Cashier: Oh, it’s free.
Me: Oh.
Cashier: (smile)
Me: Thanks, so I can just go..?
Cashier: Of course, have a good day!
Me: Thank you, you too!

Yes, it’s free — which I didn’t know. It’s basically one package for one family. The package has 5 tests.

I recommend you call them first before you visit because sometimes they don’t have any left.

Good news: Ontario will continue to provide free COVID-19 rapid antigen tests for another six months.
