iPhone XR was the best spending

In 2018, I still had an iPhone 6 which was okay for most of my usage but the main issue was the harsh winter in Canada. The Lithium-ion battery on the old iPhone just died from 100 to 0 within a few seconds when it’s pretty cold.

I was looking for a solid phone and Apple just introduced an iPhone XR on September 12, 2018, with another X series. I researched a bit and had to get the iPhone XR for three reasons.

Affordable Price: It was still pricy compared to Android phones but cheaper than other X series in general.

Longer Battery Life: I checked all of the comparisons on Youtube and the iPhone XR had the longest battery life. I’ve been using this phone for more than 4 years but the battery life is surprisingly great.

Strong Durability: I usually use electronics longer than other people though I feel like this still works like a new phone after several years.

Do I want to switch to a newer phone? Nah, I still don’t like Apple keeping the notch so I will probably wait a bit longer. Same reason I don’t buy the latest Macbook Air or Pro.

How about an iPhone 14 Pro? Don’t you want Dynamic Island? To me, it just looks like Apple is trying to cover their hardware limit with software.

But you can’t keep using your iPhone XR! That’s true. My current battery health is 86% — yes, it’s aging but I can still use it for a decent amount of time once it’s fully charged. Plus, iOS software is still supported. Some people recommend replacing the battery at Apple Store when the battery health is below 80% and I think I might do that if it’s draining too soon later.

So yes, I will keep this beautiful beast until it dies unless Apple releases a better design.
